AAIS COMMERCIAL LIABILITY COVERAGE AVAILABLE ENDORSEMENTS AND THEIR USES

INTRODUCTION

The following listing identifies endorsements, forms, notices and disclosures by number and title available to attach to the American Association of Insurance Services (AAIS) GL-200–Commercial Liability Coverage (Broad Form Coverage). They appear in alphanumerical order. The listing briefly describes each endorsement, form, notice or disclosure. This section does not address any state-specific endorsements, forms, notices, disclosures, changes or amendments. In addition, only the latest version or edition of each form is included.

NUMBERING FORMAT

AAIS uses a specific alphanumeric format to identify its forms. Two letters are followed by a space or a dash. This is followed by either a three-or a four-digit number. The letters represent the coverage or line of business to which the endorsement or form applies, such as GL for Commercial Liability Coverage and CL for Commercial Lines. AAIS is moving from the three-digit to the four-digit format.

ENDORSEMENTS AND FORMS DESCRIPTION DISCLAIMER

The brief narrative description or explanation given for each document is only a summary. A thorough review of the entire endorsement, form, notice or disclosure is necessary for a full understanding of how it modifies the AAIS Commercial Liability Coverage.

AAIS ENDORSEMENTS, FORMS, NOTICES AND DISCLOSURES

CL-100–Common Policy Conditions

This form provides the conditions common to all commercial policy forms and coverages.

CL 300–Amendatory Endorsement

This is a mandatory endorsement. It is described within the analysis of the GL-200.

GL 0114–Boats

This endorsement provides coverage for the described watercraft by exempting it from the auto, aircraft, watercraft exclusion. It also adds those who are legally responsible for use of the described watercraft as insureds but only when they are using the watercraft with permission.

GL 0116–Colleges or Schools

This endorsement adds persons while acting within the scope of their specified positions in connection with colleges and schools as insureds. It excludes professional type coverage for any infirmaries. It also excludes coverage for athletic activities that are not overseen by the insured and eliminates coverage for autos hired to transport students to and from school.

GL 0121–Exclusion–Internet Service Providers and Internet Access Providers Errors and Omissions

This endorsement limits coverage available to Internet Service providers and should be used to avoid duplication of coverage with the service providers’ errors and omissions coverage.

GL 0124–Optical and Hearing Aid Establishments

This endorsement eliminates the professional liability exclusion but only for liability that arises out of optometry, optical or hearing aid services.

GL 0125–Exclusion–Products and Pharmacists' Professional Liability

This endorsement eliminates liability coverage for the rendering or failing to render pharmaceutical professional health care services. Because pharmaceutical products and professional services are closely related, products coverage is also eliminated. Do not use when GL 0129–Pharmacists’ Professional Liability Coverage is attached.

GL 0129–Pharmacists' Professional Liability Coverage

This is a coverage form providing bodily injury and property damage coverage for professional services of a pharmacist. It is required to be attached when the drug store classification is used. If professional coverage is not to be provided, this form is not to be attached and, instead, GL 0125–Exclusion–Products and Pharmacists' Professional Liability should be attached. Please note that consulting, diagnostic, referral or similar services, blood tests, prescribing or administering any drugs or vaccinations or managing drug therapy that pharmacists may be permitted by law to provide in certain states are excluded. If coverage is needed for these excluded items, consider attaching GL 0616 instead.

GL 0163–Exclusion-War and Military Action

This is a mandatory endorsement. It is described within the analysis of the GL-200.

GL 0209–Asbestos Exclusion

This is an absolute exclusion for all liability exposures and expenses associated with asbestos and asbestos related products.

GL 0215–Silica Exclusion

This is an absolute exclusion for all liability exposures and expenses associated with silica. Silica is defined in the endorsement.

GL 0230–Funeral Directors' Professional Liability Coverage

Coverage is provided for the professional exposures of a funeral director by amending definitions and exclusions. An important part of the coverage is the expansion of bodily injury to include mental anguish even without physical injury.

GL 0241–Contractual Liability Coverage

This coverage replaces the Incidental Contractual Liability Coverage Supplemental Coverage in it’s entirely and modifies the contractual exclusion. It is very similar except for two items. Paragraph f. (any part of any other contract…) is restricted to only the bodily injury or property damage caused by the named insured or someone acting on the named insured’s behalf. It also eliminates all contractual coverage for construction or demolition operations within 50 feet of railroad property.

GL 0243–Amendment of Contractual Liability Coverage

This endorsement modifies paragraph 1. f. in the Incidental Contractual Liability Supplemental Coverage to restrict coverage to only bodily injury or property damage caused by the named insured or someone acting on the named insured’s behalf.

GL 0250–Certified Terrorism Loss

GL 0260–Certified Act of Terrorism Exclusion

GL 0348- Exclusion-Wet Rot, Dry Rot, Bacteria, Fungi or Protists

This endorsement excludes mold-related injury or damage.

GL 0349–Exclusion-Wet Rot, Dry Rot, Bacteria, Fungi or Protists–Contracting Operations

(Use only with GL-100 or GL-200)

This endorsement excludes liability coverage for mold-related injury or damage but only that which is related to the named insured’s work.

GL 0350–Exclusion-Damage to Work Performed By You or On Your Behalf

(Use only with GL-100 or GL-200)

This endorsement removes the subcontractor’s exception to damage to property damage exclusion 8. This means that damage to work performed by or on behalf of the named insured is excluded without exception. This is a significant restriction of coverage.

GL 0351–Exclusion-Damage to Work Performed By You or On Your Behalf–Designated Locations or Projects

(Use only with GL-100 or GL-200)

This endorsement removes the subcontractor’s exception to damage to your work exclusion, but this restriction applies only for the locations or projects scheduled in the endorsement.

GL 0352–Exclusion – Exterior Insulation and Finish Systems

This endorsement excludes coverage for damages due to Exterior Insulation and finish systems (EIFS).

GL 0353–Limited Coverage for Loss by Wet Rot, Dry Rot, Bacteria, Fungi or Protists

(Use only with GL-100 or GL-200)

This endorsement adds an absolute exclusion for wet rot, dry rot, bacteria, fungi or protests and then adds back a very limited amount of coverage shown in the endorsement schedule. Do not use with CG 0348 or GL 0349.

GL 0354–Limited Coverage for Loss by Wet Rot, Dry Rot, Bacteria, Fungi or Protists

(Use only with GL-600 or GL-610)

This endorsement adds an absolute exclusion for wet rot, dry rot, bacteria, fungi or protests and then adds back a very limited amount of coverage shown in the endorsement schedule.

GL 0616–Expanded Pharmacists' Professional Liability Coverage

This is an expansion of the coverage provided in GL 0129 and should not be used with it. It provides professional coverage for whatever services pharmacists are permitted to provide in the state in which they are licensed. This means that coverage could be expanded to include consulting, diagnostic, referral or similar services, blood tests, prescribing or administering any drugs or vaccinations or managing drug therapy. This is available in only a few states.

GL 0618–Exclusion–Website Designers Professional Liability

This endorsement excludes coverage for damage or injury arising out of website design or website consultation by the insured or by any other party for whom an insured is contractually or legally responsible.

GL 0620–Exclusion–Contractors Professional Liability

This endorsement excludes coverage for damage or injury arising out of architectural, engineering or surveying services to other. This applies only when the named insured's is providing architectural, engineering or surveying services to others along with the named insured’s construction work.

GL 0701–Additional Insured–Owners, Lessees or Contractors–Completed Work

(Use with GL-100 or GL-200)

The person or organization shown in this endorsement’s schedule is an insured for injury or damage resulting from the named insured's completed work. The insured's work must be performed at the scheduled location.

GL 0702–Additional Insured–Owners, Lessees or Contractors–Designated Person or Organization

The person or organization shown in this endorsement’s schedule is an insured but only with respect to injury or damage arising from the named insured's (and those acting on its behalf) acts or omissions and then only for ongoing work. The work but must be at the scheduled location.

GL 0703–Additional Insured–Owners, Lessees or Contractors–Automatic Status

Any person or organization for which the named insured works is an insured if there is a written agreement that the party will be an insured. It is insured only with respect to injury or damage caused by the named insured's (and those acting on its behalf) acts or omissions and then only for ongoing work.

GL 0705–Snow and Ice Removal Operations

This endorsement applies only to Coverage N–Products/Completed Work. Coverage is extended to cover the completed work of snow and ice removal by eliminating the auto exclusion for only that operation.

GL 0711– Additional Insured–Vendors

The party listed on the endorsement schedule who is a vendor of the named insured's products is an insured but only with respect to the products described on the schedule that are sold by that vendor. There are several limitations based on actions of the vendor.

GL 0712–Additional Insured–Engineers, Architects or Surveyors

Any architect, engineer or surveyor engaged by the named insured is an insured but only with respect to injury or damage that is not professional and arises from the named insured's actions or those acting on its behalf, acts or omissions related to the named insured's premises or work.

GL 0713–Additional Insured–Lessor of Leased Equipment–Automatic Status

Any party from whom the named insured leases equipment is an insured for injury or damage arising out of the named insured's maintenance, operation or use of the leased equipment. Coverage applies automatically if the named insured and the lessor have a written agreement that the lessor will be included on the policy as an additional insured.

GL 0714–Additional Insured–Engineers, Architects or Surveyors Not Engaged By You

The engineer, architect or surveyor listed on the endorsement schedule who is not engaged by the named insured, is an insured but only with respect to injury or damage that arises from the named insured's, or those acting of its behalf acts or omissions related to the named insured's work. There is no professional coverage.

GL 0717–Additional Insured–Lessor of Premises

Any person or organization listed on the endorsement schedule that leases a premises to the named insured is an insured but only at that scheduled premises. That party is only an insured if the named insured is legally liable and the injury or damage arises from the named insured's (or those acting of its behalf) acts or omissions.

GL 0718–Additional Insured–Designated Person or Organization

Any person or organization listed and described in the endorsement schedule is an insured but only with respect to injury or damage arising from the named insured’s, or those acting of its behalf, acts or omissions related to the named insured's work, premises or interests scheduled in the endorsement.

GL 0719–Additional Insured–Lessor of Leased Equipment

Any person or organization listed on the endorsement schedule is an insured for injury or damage arising out of the named insured's maintenance, operation or use of the leased equipment.

GL 0810–Migrant and Seasonal Worker Protection Act Exclusion

(Use with GL-610)

This is a mandatory exclusion that removes coverage for any damage awarded under the Migrant and Seasonal Agricultural Worker Protection Act.

GL 0846–Exclusion–Professional Liability–Computer Software

This exclusion removes coverage for damages arising out of the services that were or should have been provided along with the named insured’s computer software.

GL 0847–Exclusion–Health or Cosmetic Services

This exclusion removes coverage for medical, health and cosmetic services for the operations listed and described in endorsement schedule.

GL 0852–Exclusion-Errors and Omissions-Testing or Consultation

This exclusion removes coverage for bodily injury, property damage, personal injury and advertising injury arising from the named insured’s testing and consulting errors or omissions and any reporting requirements.

GL 0869–Customers' Autos on Insured or Adjoining Premises

This broadening endorsement amends the auto, aircraft and watercraft exclusion so that coverage applies to injury or damage caused by customers' autos while on the premises owned by, rented to or controlled by the named insured. This applies only if the premises are used as an auto repair or service shop, car wash, gasoline station, tire dealer or an oil change and lubrication services business.

GL 0881–Exclusion-Underground Resources or Equipment

This exclusion removes coverage for the underground resources and equipment hazard. Limited coverage can be provided by attaching the GL-858.

GL 0891–Pesticide or Herbicide Applicator Coverage

This endorsement adds an exception to the pollution liability exclusion. There is pollution coverage for the scheduled operations provided that the activities meet federal, state and local guidelines.

GL 0936–Pollution Exclusion Amendment

(Use with GL-100, GL-200 or GL-600)

This broadening endorsement adds several exceptions to the pollution exclusion. The exceptions include the fumes from HVAC units and water heaters; additional insured status; and pollutants discharged from mobile equipment.

GL 0950–Known Injury or Damage Amendments

This is a mandatory endorsement. It is described within the analysis of the GL-200.

GL 0951–Exclusion-Adult Day Care Centers

This exclusion removes coverage for professional, specific health care and cosmetics services and medical payments coverage for any person in the insured's care.

GL 0952–Misdelivery of Liquid Products Coverage

This endorsement broadens coverage by amending the autos, mobile equipment and watercraft exclusion. The exclusion does not apply to bodily injury or property damage caused by the delivery of liquid products into the wrong receptacle or to the wrong addressor, delivering one liquid product instead of the requested one. The misdelivery must be by an auto or motorized vehicle and must occur off premise after the work has been completed or abandoned at the delivery site.

GL 0953–Additional Insured-Users of Draft or Saddle Animals

This endorsement expands the definition of insured to include any party who has the named insured’s permission to use draft animals, saddle animals or vehicles.

GL 0954–Exclusion-Designated Cosmetic Services

This exclusion removes coverage for injury or damage arising from cosmetic and barber services with respect to the scheduled operations. 

GL 0955– Exclusion-Funeral Services

This exclusion removes professional coverage for injury or damage arising out of the handling of bodies.

GL 0956–Exclusion-Professional Liability-EDP Services and Computer Consulting and Programming Services

This exclusion removes coverage for injury or damage arising from out of electronic data processing services, computer consulting services and programming services of the insured or any party for whom the insured is liable.

GL 0957–Exclusion-Professional Liability–Computer Data Processing

This exclusion removes liability coverage injury or damage arising from acts or errors in the named insured’s, or any party for whom the insured is responsible, data processing services. 

GL 0958–Exclusion-Property Damage to Electronic Data (Computer Software Manufacturer)

This exclusion removes coverage for property damage to electronic data arising from any of the named insured’s developed or manufactured computer software programs.

GL 0959–Exclusion-Diagnostic Testing Laboratories

This exclusion removes coverage for injury or damage arising from performance errors in medical or diagnostic testing or in the reporting of any test results.

GL 0960–Exclusion-Failure to Supply Utilities

This exclusion removes coverage for injury or damage arising from the failure of an insured to supply electricity, gas, steam or other specific utilities scheduled in the endorsement. The only exception is when failure is due to an insured’s sudden and accidental physical property loss.

GL 0961–Exclusion-Professional Liability-Engineers, Architects or Surveyors

This exclusion removes coverage for injury and damage arising out of engineering-type professional services by the named insured, or by an engineer, architect or surveyor employed by or performing work on behalf of the named insured.

GL 0962–Government Subdivisions

This endorsement expands the definition of insured to include members of the named insured’s boards, commissions, or agencies and the named insured’s elected or appointed officials. It limits the mobile equipment supplemental coverage by excluding vehicles designed for use on public roads.

GL 0963–Hazardous Material Contractors

This endorsement removes the pollution exclusion at a location where the insured, or a contractor working for the named insured, removes, replaces, repairs, encloses or encapsulates hazardous material.

GL 0964–Exclusion-Products and Professional Services-Optical and Hearing Aid Establishments

This exclusion removes not only the professional coverage but also the products coverage for injury or damage arising from the practice of optometry, optical or hearing aid services. 

GL 0965–Exclusion-Housing Project Sites

This exclusion removes coverage for injury and damage arising out any building on a proposed housing project site that will be demolished when the housing project is built.

GL 0966–Exclusion-Inspection, Appraisal and Survey Companies

This exclusion removes coverage for injury and damage arising from claim, consultation, investigation, adjustment, engineering, inspection, appraisal, survey, and audit professional services.

GL 0967–Exclusion-Saline Substances Contamination

This exclusion removes coverage for saline property damage to oil, gas, water or other mineral substances. The exclusion applies only to the scheduled operations.

GL 0968–Exclusion-Oil or Gas Producing Operations

This restricting endorsement amends the pollution exclusion to eliminate coverage regardless of who brings the pollutants to the jobsite.

GL 0969–Exclusion-Rolling Stock during Railroad Construction

This exclusion removes coverage for injury or damage arising from rolling stock being moved by railroads during railroad construction or maintenance. There is an exception for such stock that is considered part of the construction operation.

GL 0970–Exclusion–Bodily Injury to Railroad Passengers

This exclusion removes coverage for bodily injury to a passenger entering, traveling on, or exiting a train. This applies only if the injured individual is considered a passenger of the named insured.

GL 0971–Exclusion-Property Entrusted

This exclusion removes coverage for property damage to property of others. It applies when the property is being stored by the named insured or it is on the named insured’s premises. This exclusion applies only when such damage is related to the scheduled operations.

GL 0972–Exclusion-Erroneous Delivery or Mixture and Resulting Failure of Seed to Germinate

This exclusion removes property damage coverage arising from any type of erroneous delivery or mixture of seed, and processing or labeling errors and any failure of seed germination. Do not use with GL 0973

GL 0973–Coverage for Erroneous Delivery or Mixture and Resulting Failure of Seed to Germinate

This endorsement extends coverage for property damage arising from any type of erroneous delivery or mixture of seed, and processing or labeling errors and any failure of seed germination. Do not use with GL 0972.

GL 0974–Coverage for Erroneous Delivery or Mixture–Failure of Seed to Germinate Excluded

This is the same coverage as GL 0973 except that failure to germinate is excluded.

GL-0975–Exclusion-Counseling Services

This exclusion removes coverage for injury or damage arising from crisis prevention, drug, alcohol or other addiction rehabilitation, mental health or family social services and other types of counseling services.

GL 0976–Exclusion-Spas, Health or Beauty Facilities

This exclusion removes coverage for injury and damage arising from appearance or skin enhancement, hair removal, hair replacement, personal grooming or physical fitness advice or services.

GL 0977–Limited Completed Operations Coverage-Stevedoring Operations

This limitation changes the definition of the completed work hazard to exclude coverage when the occurrences are not on-board vessels.

GL 0978–Exclusion-Errors and Omissions-Telecommunications Equipment or Service Providers

This exclusion removes coverage for injury and damage from failure to supply telecommunications services and from errors or omissions in advice or service regarding telecommunication systems.

GL 0979–Additional Insured-Homeowners Associations

The definition of insured is expanded to include each individual homeowner in a homeowners association but only as respects his or her membership in such.

GL 0980–Limitation of Coverage-Travel Agency Tours

All coverage for damage or injury caused by employees who travel out of the country for short time periods is eliminated by this limitation while they are conducting tours for the named insured. 

GL 0981–Exclusion-Professional Services-Veterinarians

This exclusion removes coverage for injury and damage caused by professional services provided or denied to animals. There is also no coverage for any health care services provided or pharmaceuticals supplied.

GL 0982–Exclusion-Professional Services-Blood Banks

This exclusion removes coverage for injury or damage due to the professional services surrounding blood banks, including warranties on blood quality and activities of doctors for which the bank is liable.

GL 0983–Lawn Care Services

This endorsement provides an exception to the pollution exclusion for lawn care herbicides or pesticides the insured applies but only if there is no requirement that licenses, or permits be obtained to apply them.

GL 0995–Auto and Mobile Equipment Amendments

(Use with only GL-100)

This restriction removes coverage for any mobile equipment that is required by the law of the state in which it is garaged to meet financial responsibility laws. Any such mobile equipment is redefined as an auto. 

GL 0996–Auto and Mobile Equipment Amendments

(Use with only GL-200)

This restriction removes coverage for any mobile equipment that is required by the law of the state in which it is garaged to meet financial responsibility laws. Any such mobile equipment is redefined as an auto. 

GL-107–Additional Insured–Church Members, Officers and Volunteer Workers

This endorsement amends the definition of insured to include church members, trustees, officials, members or the board of governors, members of the clergy and volunteer workers.

GL-108–Additional Insureds

This endorsement identifies co-owners of the insured premises, entities with controlling interest in either the insured or the premises or mortgagees, assignees or receivers as insureds. The insured and the location to which it pertains must be described in the endorsement.

GL-109–Additional Insured–Landlord

This endorsement adds a landlord as an insured but only at the location and for the landlord scheduled.

GL-110–Additional Insured–State or Political Subdivision–Permits

This endorsement adds a state or political subdivision as an insured. It is limited to the entity named in the endorsement and only for operations performed by the insured or on the insured's behalf for which a permit from the entity was required.

GL-111–Additional Insured–State or Political Subdivision–Premises Permits

This endorsement adds a state or political subdivision as an insured. It is limited to the entity named in the endorsement and only for listed hazards at premises of the named insured for which a permit from the entity was required.

GL-112–Additional Insureds

This endorsement is used to provide insured status to grantor of a franchise, lessor of equipment and/or owner, lessees or contractors but only if the appropriate box is selected and the entities name is shown in the schedule on the endorsement.  

GL-113–Additional Insured–Owners, Lessees or Contractors

This endorsement is used to provide insured status to an owner, lessee or contractor shown in the schedule and only at the scheduled location. This expands to provide additional insured status to the named entity for the supervision they provide to the named insured.

GL-117–Additional Insured–Architects, Engineers or Surveyors

This endorsement adds any architect, engineer or surveyor engaged by the named insured as an insured for liability arising out of the insured's premises or work.

GL-119–Pastoral Counseling–Professional Liability

This endorsement provides professional liability coverage for counseling but only when conducted by the individuals listed and only for the activities described.

GL-120–Financial Institutions (Reporting Provision and Limitation to Fiduciary Interest)

This endorsement provides coverage to properties over which the named insured has fiduciary responsibilities and states how reports are to be made to the company regarding such properties. 

 Do not use with GL-206.

GL-122–Non-Owned Auto Liability Coverage Hired Auto Liability Coverage

Non-owned auto coverage and hired auto coverage is provided with this endorsement but should be used carefully because of potential conflicts with any owned auto coverage provided.

GL-126– Real Estate Agents

This limitation amends the commercial liability coverage by restricting the coverage for the named insured's real estate operations to injury or damage that arise out of the premises the named insured’s uses for general office purposes or premises listed with the insured for sale or rental.

GL-128–Premium Payments

This endorsement is used when a multi year policy is issued but the premiums are to be recalculated every year.

GL-130–Products/Completed Work–Expanded Definition

This endorsement amends the definition of products hazard by removing the requirement that products coverage applies only after the product has left the premises. The premises and operations must be entered on the schedule. This is used with restaurants and other operations that allow customers to consume products on their premises.

GL-140–Amendment–Aggregate Limits of Insurance (Per Location)

This endorsement expands coverage by applying a separate general aggregate limit to each location owned by or rented to the named insured.

GL-142–Amendment–Aggregate Limits of Insurance (Per Project)

This endorsement expands coverage by applying a separate general aggregate limit to each of the named insured's projects.

GL-160–Additional Insured–Condominiums

This endorsement expands the definition of insured to include each of the insured condominium association’s unit owners as respects the part of the premises that are considered common areas.

GL-162–Condominiums

This endorsement expands the commercial liability coverage provisions for condominium associations. The Cancellation and Non-renewal conditions of the Common Policy Conditions require that each unit owner with a certificate of insurance receive the same cancellation notice as the association. It amends the definition of insured to include each unit owner as limited insureds for common areas. An addition of a limited waiver of subrogation also applies to unit owners.

GL-202–Exclusion–Athletic or Sports Participants

This endorsement excludes bodily injury and personal injury liability coverage to a person practicing for or participating in sports or athletic contests sponsored by the named insured. A description of the operations must be entered in the endorsement schedule.

GL-204–Exclusion–Escalators

This endorsement excludes injury or damage arising out of an escalator at owned or controlled locations. It does not apply unless the named insured actually operates, maintains or controls the escalator.

GL-206–Financial Institutions (Exclusion of Fiduciary Liability)

This endorsement excludes liability coverage for property over which the named insured acts in a fiduciary or representative capacity. Do not use with GL-120.

GL-208–Exclusion–Logging and Lumbering Operations

Property damage caused by a fire arising out of the named insured's logging and lumbering operations is excluded by this endorsement. Property damage to a vehicle that is being loaded or unloaded is also excluded if it is related to the named insured's logging or lumbering operations.

GL-210–Liability Exclusion (Applying To All Hazards in Connection With Designated Premises, Operations or Products)

Designated premises and/or operations can be excluded when the appropriate entries are made on this endorsement. This is a very broad exclusion and should be used with care because of how it is written.

GL-212–Exclusion–Explosion, Collapse and Underground Property Damage Hazard

This endorsement excludes property damage liability coverage for the selected hazards of explosion, collapse or underground property damage.

GL-214–Exclusion–Coverage M–Medical Payments

This endorsement excludes medical payments coverage only at the locations listed and described in the endorsement.  

GL-216–Exclusion–Fire Damage Legal Liability

This endorsement excludes fire legal liability coverage.

GL-220–Change Endorsement

This is an open form that allows policy amendments.

GL-222–Deductible

This endorsement adds a deductible provision to the coverage. The deductible can be applied on a per-claim or per-occurrence basis to bodily injury, property damage or bodily injury and property damage combined.

GL-224–Liability Coverage–Designated Premises

This endorsement limits coverage to only the premises scheduled on the endorsement and operations connected with that premises.

GL-226–Exclusion–Malpractice and Professional Services

This endorsement excludes coverage for bodily injury, property damage, personal injury or advertising injury. The services excluded in this endorsement are hearing aids, cosmetic, massage, chiropody, optical or optometric, hairdressing, or physiotherapy but only when described in the endorsement schedule.

GL-228–Exclusion–Water Damage

This endorsement excludes coverage for property damage to buildings or contents in the buildings that is caused by most water damage occurring within the premises described in the endorsement schedule.

GL-232–Veterinarians' Professional Liability Coverage

This is a coverage form providing bodily injury and property damage coverage for professional services of either an individual veterinarian or a veterinarian business practice. A limit of insurance is provided specifically for each of the coverages provided in the endorsement.

GL-234–Nurses' Professional Liability Coverage

This is a coverage form providing bodily injury and property damage coverage for professional services of an individual nurse named in the schedule. A limit of insurance is provided specifically for the coverage provided in the endorsement.

GL-238–Exclusion–Property Damage to Laundry and Dry Cleaning

This endorsement does not pay when property damage to laundry or and dry cleaning occurs in a self-service laundry, a coin-operated laundry equipment or a self-service dry cleaner.

GL-244–Cosmetologists' Liability

This endorsement eliminates the professional services exclusion for injury or damage arising out of the rendering or failing to render a cosmetology professional service. Willful violations of statutes, ordinances or regulations are not covered.

GL-837–Additional Insured–Officers and Board Members–Public Corporations

Any officer or member of any named insured board, commission or agency is an insured when acting within the scope of his or her duties as such.

GL-838–Farms

This endorsement modifies the coverage to apply to farms. The definition of insured is amended to include household members and insured premises expanded to be not only the farm premises but also the household structures and any cemetery plots of family members. Exclusions are added that should be reviewed.

GL-839–Residential Premises

This endorsement provides residential liability coverage for the premises described in the schedule. Coverage is limited to residential type exposures for the named insured and household members.

GL-840–Medical Payments–Designated Insureds

Medical payments coverage can be added back for club members, guests at a hotel, motel or tourist court, students, campers, patients and inmates if an x is marked in the appropriate box.

GL 841–Additional Insured–Designated Party

Any person or organization listed and described in the endorsement schedule is an insured but only with respect to injury or damage arising from the named insured's, or those acting of its behalf, acts or omissions related to the named insured's work, premises or interests scheduled in the endorsement.

GL-842–Additional Insured–Lessors

Any person or organization listed on the endorsement schedule and leasing premises to the insured is an insured but only at the scheduled premises. That party is only insured if the named insured is legally liable and the injury or damage arises from the named insured's, or those acting of its behalf, acts or omissions.

GL-843–Additional Insured–Vendors

The party listed on the endorsement schedule who is a vendor of the named insured's products is an insured but only with respect to the products described on the schedule that are sold by that vendor. There are a number of limitations regarding actions of the vendor.

GL-844–Additional Insured–Club Members

The named insured club members are insureds but only for when the liability arises from the named insured's activities or activities the member performs from it.

GL-845–Additional Insured–Concessionaires Trading Under Your Name

Any concessionaire scheduled on the endorsement is an insured but only when using the named insured’s name and acting as its concessionaire. The insured status is only for liability that is provided under Coverage N–Products/Completed Work.

GL-848–Exclusion–Designated Work

This exclusion removes coverage for bodily injury and property damage arising out of the named insured's work described in the endorsement schedule.

GL-849–Exclusion–Designated Products

This exclusion removes coverage for bodily injury and property damage arising from the named insured's products listed in the endorsement schedule.

GL-850–Exclusion–Designated Services

This exclusion removes coverage for injury or damage arising out of the services scheduled in the endorsement.

GL-853–Exclusion-Abuse or Molestation

This exclusion removes coverage for bodily injury, property damage, personal injury and advertising injury for the actual or threatened abuse or molestation of anyone in the care, custody or control of an insured or for negligent supervision that would permit such occurrences.

GL-854–Exclusion-Riot, Mob Action or Civil Commotion (Governmental Subdivision)

This exclusion removes coverage for injury and damage due to mob-type activity and for any action that caused the activity or could have been taken to prevent it.

GL-855–Exclusion-Specified Hazards (Carnivals, Circuses and Fairs)

This exclusion removes coverage for bodily injury, property damage, personal injury and advertising injury arising out of mechanically operated amusement devices. There is also no bodily or personal injury coverage for anyone who is practicing for or participating in athletic activities sponsored by the named insured. 

GL-856–Corporal Punishment

The intentional action exclusion is modified to provide coverage for bodily injury arising from an insured administering corporal punishment. Do not use with GL-857.

GL-857–Exclusion-Corporal Punishment

This exclusion removes coverage for bodily injury, property damage, personal injury and advertising injury arising from an insured administering corporal punishment. Do not use with GL-856

GL-858–Underground Resources and Equipment Coverage

This endorsement provides limited coverage for the underground resources and equipment hazard. A description of the operations and an aggregate limit for the hazard must be shown on the endorsement. The aggregate is subject to the occurrence, general and products/completed work aggregates and is a per well aggregate.  Coverage can be excluded by using GL-881.

GL-859–Exclusion–Volunteer Firefighter

Liability coverage is excluded for volunteer firefighters who are injured while performing their duties.

Note: There are two versions of this form. GL-859 Ed. 2.1 applies only to members of the named insured’s organization. GL-859 Ed.2.0 applies to any volunteer firefighter regardless of their affiliation with the named insured.

GL-860–Vessels

This expansion of coverage eliminates the watercraft exclusion for any watercraft scheduled on this endorsement. Two new exclusions are added. One removes bodily injury coverage if the watercraft carries people for a charge and the other removes coverage for the ownership, maintenance, operation, use, loading or unloading of any barge rented to others by the named insured unless the named insured retains operating control of the barge.

GL-861–Exclusion-Bicycles

This exclusion removes coverage for injury or damage arising out of the off-site use of a bicycle or delivery tricycle.

GL-862–Exclusion-Blowout and Cratering Hazard

This exclusion applies only to the operations scheduled on the endorsement. Coverage is removed for above ground property damage caused by a blowout or cratering of a well.

GL-863–Heating and Power Companies

This limitation revises the definition of products to exclude electricity, gas, or steam but only if it is supplied by an electric light, and power, gas, steam heating or power company or if a cooperative supplies it.

GL-864–Automobile Servicing or Dumping Hoists

This broadening endorsement amends the care, custody or control exclusion. That exclusion does not apply when property damage arises from the use of hydraulic or mechanical hoists in the servicing of an auto or to dump material from an auto.

GL-865–Bicycle Liability

This endorsement is intended to provide coverage for bicycle liability. This coverage is already provided by the form because there is no exclusion that would eliminate coverage. However, this endorsement provides insured status to anyone using the bicycle with the insured’s permission. It adds an exclusion to eliminate coverage for motorized bicycles and also ones that are rented to others. This should not be combined with GL-861.

GL-867–Clubs

This endorsement expands coverage to include members as insured similar to GL-844 but also provides the option to expand coverage to include saddle animals and watercraft exposures.

GL-868–Exclusion-Movement of Buildings or Structures

This exclusion removes coverage when a motor vehicle or mobile equipment is moving a building or structure from one foundation to another.

GL-870–Teachers' Liability Coverage (Including Optional Medical Payments for Pupils)

This endorsement is protection for the individuals named in the endorsement for liability resulting from their teaching activities. It also includes student medical payments for accidents arising from the teachers’ activities.

GL-871– Exclusion–Insurance and Related Operations

This exclusion removes coverage for injury and damage arising out of rendering or failing to render professional insurance services and operations.

GL-872–Farm Employers Liability Coverage

This endorsement adds employers liability coverage but only for farm employees. This would be used only in states where workers compensation for farm works is not mandatory because there is no coverage for employees if workers compensation coverage is required.

GL-873–Cold Storage Locker Facility

This endorsement amends the definition of products to include food or beverages stored for others at any named insured owned or operated cold storage locker facility. Property damage to the stored food and beverage is not covered when the damage occurs during storage and is not covered for spoilage after the named insured is no longer holding the items.  

GL-874–Additional Insured-Golfmobiles

This endorsement extends the definition of insured to include any person using or legally responsible for the use of a golfmobile that the named insured or its concessionaire has loaned or rented out.  

GL-875 –Exclusion-Professional Liability-Health and Exercise Clubs

This exclusion removes coverage for injury or damage arising from physical fitness professional services or advice.  

GL-876–Exclusion-Errors and Omissions–Construction Management

This exclusion removes coverage injury or damage arising from professional services or advice relating to construction management by the named insured. The exclusion does not apply to construction or demolition work performed by the named insured, its employee or subcontractors.

GL-877– Exclusion-Real Property You Manage

This exclusion removes property damage coverage to property over which the named insured is a supervisor. It also changes the Insurance Under More Than One Policy Condition to be excess instead of primary over all other valid and collectible insurance available on the properties where the named insured is real estate manager.

GL-878– Exclusion–Insured's Products

This exclusion removes coverage arising out of the named insured's products once those products are in someone else’s possession. This applies regardless of where the injury occurs.

GL-879–Exclusion–Specified Premises and Operations

This exclusion removes coverage for occurrences at the scheduled premises that are due to the scheduled operations.

GL-880–Construction of Residences on Vacant Land

This endorsement refers to and adds a definition. Insured premises, as introduced in this endorsement, includes the scheduled land where an insured is constructing a one or two family dwelling. A property damage exclusion is also deleted but it is not clearly identified.

Note: When attached to a GL-200, ambiguities may be created.

GL-882–Camps

This endorsement allows coverage to be scheduled for saddle animals and watercraft exposures or to add first aid coverage for campers.

GL-883–Hotels and Motels (Lessor's Risk Only)

This endorsement for hotel and motel operations allows coverage to be scheduled for saddle animals and watercraft exposures the named insured rents or leases to others.

GL-884–Hotels and Motels (Operator's Risk Only)

This endorsement for hotels and motel operations allows coverage to be scheduled for saddle animals and watercraft exposures the named insured operates. It also amends the products hazards to include products consumed on the premises and adds a professional exclusion for a variety of cosmetic and limited health care exposures.

GL-885–Mobile Home Parks or Courts

This endorsement allows coverage to be scheduled for saddle animals and/or watercraft exposures that are part of the designated scheduled mobile parks or courts. It also amends the products hazards to include products consumed on the premises and adds a professional exclusion for a variety of cosmetic and limited health care exposures.

GL-886–Exclusion-Medical Payments (Day Care Centers)

This exclusion removes medical payments coverage for any child enrolled in the day care center. This means that medical payments coverage remains available for children who visit the center but are not enrolled.

GL-887–Additional Insured-Non-Profit Organizations-Members, Officials and Volunteer Workers

This broadens the definition of insured to include the insured's members, trustees, officials, members of the board of governors or volunteer workers.  

GL-890–Lead Liability Exclusion

This is a mandatory endorsement. It is described within the analysis of the GL-200.

GL-892–Coverage E-Employee Benefits Liability Coverage (Claims Made Basis)

This endorsement introduces a new coverage which has its own scheduled limits and is on a claims-made basis.  Coverage is for damages due to a negligent act, error or omission the administration of an employee benefits program. Review carefully before using.

GL-893––Employee Benefits Liability Coverage–Supplemental Extended Reporting Period

This endorsement can be purchased when the employee benefits coverage is cancelled or nonrenewed. It provides the extended reporting period that is described within the GL 892.

GL-894–Punitive Damages Exclusion

This exclusion removes all coverage for damages that are awarded as a means to change behaviors such as vindictive, punitive or exemplary damages. 

GL-895–Employee Redefined

This restrictive endorsement removes leased employees from the definition of employee.

GL-896–Carnivals and Circuses

This exclusion removes coverage for bodily injury and property damage arising out of mechanically operated amusement devices. There is also no bodily injury coverage for anyone who is practicing for or participating in athletic activities.

GL-897–Laundry or Dry Cleaning

This expansion of coverage provides an exception to the care, custody and control property damage by providing coverage for laundry or dry cleaning.

GL-898–Cross Liability Coverage

This endorsement states that if an insured suffers bodily injury or personal injury and sues another insured covered under this coverage form, the policy will responds just as it would if any other person was injured and sued. This is not really needed because there is no exclusion in the policy eliminating coverage for insureds. Do not use with GL-899.

GL-899– Cross Liability Exclusion

This exclusion removes all coverage for bodily injury or personal injury to an insured. Do not use with GL-898.

GL-902–Contractual Liability Coverage

(Use with GL-100, GL-600 or GL-610)

This form adds Contractual Liability Coverage as a Supplemental Coverage.

GL-903–Contractual Liability Coverage Limitation (Incidental Contractual Liability)

(Use with only GL-200)

This restriction of coverage applies to only specific types of contracts and removes coverage for contracts in which the insured assumes tort liability within the contract.  

GL-904–Personal and Advertising Injury Liability Coverage

This endorsement adds Coverage P- Personal and Advertising Injury Liability Coverage to the policy. It is not needed on GL-200 because Coverage P is automatically a part of the coverage form.

GL-905–Exclusion–Coverage P–Personal Injury and Advertising Injury Liability

This exclusion removes all coverage for and references to Coverage P–Personal Injury Liability and Advertising Injury Liability.

GL-906–Leased Premises Limitation

This restriction limits contractual liability for premises leases to only the scheduled locations.

GL-914–Limited Liability Company

This endorsement changes the definition of insured to add limited liability companies as a type of business entity.

GL-917–Calendar Date or Time Failure Exclusion

This is a restrictive endorsement that excludes coverage for property damage (but not bodily injury) when there is a failure of equipment because it cannot read a calendar date or time stamp.

GL-918–Employee Benefits Liability Coverage–Calendar Date or Time Failure Exclusion

This is a restrictive endorsement that excludes coverage for any claim due to a failure of equipment because it cannot read a calendar date or time stamp.

GL 1020–Other Insurance Amendment

(Use only with GL-100 and GL-200)

This is a mandatory endorsement. It is described within the analysis of the GL-200.

GL 1021–Other Insurance Amendment

This mandatory endorsement changes the Other Insurance Condition by adding wording that this coverage is excess over coverage granted to the insured as an additional insured on another’s policy.

GL 1022–Information Distribution and Recording Violations Exclusion

This is a mandatory endorsement. It is described within the analysis of the GL-200.

GL 1023–Exclusion-Communicable Disease

This endorsement excludes coverage because a communicable disease is transmitted no matter what role the named insured or insured may have in that transmission taking place.

GL 1024–Exclusion-Communicable Disease - Limited Products Excepted

This endorsement excludes coverage because a communicable disease is transmitted no matter what role the named insured or insured may have in that transmission taking place. There is an exception when the transmission is due to a product that is intended for consumption by either human or animal or for their topical use.

GL 1352–Exclusion-Data Breach Liability-Personal Injury or Advertising Injury

This is a less restrictive version of the mandatory GL 1353 below and therefore; the GL 1353 cannot be attached when the GL 1352 is used. No PI or AI is provided for disclosure or access to confidential information. Expenses related to such disclosures are also not covered.

GL 1353–Exclusion-Data Breach Liability

This is a mandatory endorsement. It is described within the analysis of the GL-200.
